Travel to Cuba from the United States for tourism is not allowed under U.S. law. However, it is still possible to visit the island under one of 12 authorized categories of travel. Check this page to make sure your journey meets the regulations.
What Documents Do Indian Citizens Need to enter Cuba?
Indian travelers must bring several documents to enter Cuba smoothly. Authorities will check these at immigration and sometimes during check-in at your departure airport.
Indian citizens need:
- Indian Valid passport: It must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date in Cuba.
- Confirmed return or onward ticket: Proof you won’t overstay your visit.
- Accommodation proof: A hotel reservation, Airbnb confirmation, or a letter from a Cuban host.
- Travel insurance: Must include medical coverage valid in Cuba. Indian citizens may be denied entry without it.
- Proof of funds: Show at least $50 USD per day of your stay via cash, bank statements, or a credit card.
- D’Viajeros form: Complete online before your trip. Indian citizens will receive a QR code.
- Passport-size photos: Needed for visa applications or embassy visits.
Keep printed or digital copies of everything, especially the key documents mentioned above.

Do Indian citizens need a Cuba visa?
Yes, you’ll need a Cuba visa for Indians. This visa allows Indian citizens to enter the country for tourism purposes for up to 90 days.

Do Indian citizens need a visa on arrival for Cuba?
No, Cuba does not issue visas on arrival to Indian passport holders. You must apply before your trip, either through:
- The Cuban Embassy in New Delhi
- An authorized travel agency or visa agent
- Some airlines or tour packages may include the Tourist Card—confirm this in advance
Without the visa, Indian citizens won’t be allowed to board their flight to Cuba.

You must complete the Cuba D'viajeros travel form for Indian citizens.
Here’s how it works:
- Fill it out online
- Pay the processing fee
- Once approved, you’ll receive a QR code by email
Print the QR code or save it on your phone. You’ll need to scan it when arriving in Cuba.
This form speeds up immigration and replaces traditional paper declarations.
Cuba’s Health Policies for Indians
Cuba still has some health-related rules for international travelers.
Travel insurance is mandatory. It must include coverage for medical expenses in Cuba. Authorities may check it on arrival.

Cuban pesos (CUP) aren’t available outside Cuba, so exchange a small amount after arrival. USD and EUR are widely accepted at airports.
